Octavo red blind-stamped decorated boards (slightly marked/tips rubbed) endpapers with adverts for McDougall's Self-raising Flour, Lea & Perrins Sauce, Bovril etc. 384pp. Slight foxing, some 6 margins with creases but otherwise clean, no loose pages, no marks or tears. *Note on free endpaper: "Sir Mayson Beeton, K.B.E., son of the famous Mrs. Beeton, referring to the first edition of 'Mrs. Beeton's Household Management' in the Daily Mail or April 15th, 1936, says:- 'Its chief object was to promote efficiency and economy in the household.' Mrs. Beeton's publishers have borne that object in mind always, and, regardless of labour and expense, have continued to keep her books thoroughly up to date and reliable, and have made them even more economical."
