Lacks endpapers some early marginalia & staining mainly to prelims, 2 leaves torn with loss made good in facsimile. *Osborne 671 calls this "new & much improved with near 20 new Emblems". Later editions (called Choice Emblems) have re-engraved cuts for some of the illustrations attributed to Bewick.
