16mo red blindstamped Victorian cloth gilt lettered to cover (head and foot of spine sl.worn else nice and bright) 72pp Small corner crease causing tiny tear to margin of frontis and a faded pencil inscription dated 1850. *A poverty stricken woman takes in a dying woman and baby which she then adopts and at great cost to herself sends him to school and teaches him right from wrong so that he grows up into a charming boy who resists temptation from an older lad who then tries to incriminate him. Ends well.
