Help from another nun who came to the convent as a young girl after her fiancee decides to become a Jesuit Priest helps her to escape as she finds she is dying and entrusts her to her former lover. He, despite his calling helps the girl for is former love's sake, as she seems not to have a vocation for the church. A strange story for Victorian times without the usual animosity of the Protestants for the Cloistered life with the implicit admission that there are good people in both faiths.
