16mo green blindstamped cloth gilt lettered (spine gilt very rubbed/tips worn & bumped lower cover marked) 144pp. Inscribed January 1855 Norris Moffet, Norris N.Y. *Originally attributed to Charles Dickens who did envisage writing a Raree show series for the periodicals he edited, but nothing came of it and Mogridge took up the idea of this story narrated by the travelling showman who exhibits his wonders to the children among them Niagra Falls, an Elephant hunt, historical scenes such as the Assasination of Thomas a Becket, battles etc. A scarce work especially in the American edition.
