16mo (in 8s) 113x80mm bound in printed boards (backstrip defective with some loss) sewing & binding are sound, tight & holding, tips rubbed/bumped (viii,Calendar) +206pgs+(i); lacking only the hand-colored plate of the Farmer (to match the Farmer's Wife, which is present) and the slip-case (as usual). The frontispiece shows Castle Habsburg, there is a decorative engraved Titlepage, and 4 folding Views showing Baden, Aarau, Schloss Hallwyl and the vicinity of Brugg & Windisch. All but one of the plates have their original tissue-guards. This little volume is remarkably clean & crisp with the folding plates and the hand-colored plates in fine condition. There is a Table of Contents; the book is packed with information from lists of Ferry Crossings to explanations of the Postal Service, Weights & Measures (differing from place to place), Currency & Coinage in circulation (various); Provision for the Poor & Sick (inoculation against Smallpox), Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting, Political Legal Police Military, Folk Customs, Religion, Music, and an Appendix discussing the medicinal waters of Baden etc. *This sought-after series of almanacs was issued for more than 20 years, each annual issue devoted to a different Canton.
