Titlepage in red & black +[10]pp +960pp +pair of Vertical Titles +[32]pp index; Vol.2 license leaf + Title in red & black +[12]pp prelims +727pp +[10]pp index/errata with publisher's catalogue on verso; Vol.3 Title in red & black +[3]pp prelims +208pp +[4]pp index, Title in red & black +[3]pp prelims +518pp +[9]pp index; Vol.4 Title in red & black +[3]pp prelims +464pp +[8]pp index. Several pagination jumps & repeats but all catchwords and signatures correct. One 2.5 inch tear to upper margin and a few small marginal paper-faults, about 20 leaves with marginal worming never touching text. A very crisp, wide margined copy collating complete. The sub-titles vary as to periods/subjects they cover and the imprint of vol.2 no longer lists Harriman, the 3rd/4th volume is "for the widow of the author" (WING 3138).
