Library stamp of Edinburgh Medical Society on back of Titlepage and first page each with either some show-through or offsetting. First and last few pages slightly dusty and uniformly edge-browned. Newer endpapers. *Early evolutionary work. Most copies of this edition were destroyed by the author according to the 3 libraries listing this work (Wellcome, British Libr. & Edinburgh). Quite scarce (not in Waller).
