Description
Duodecimo gilt ruled roan on 5 raised bands (lacking all leather to rear board/spine with lower compartment mostly lacking leather/tips & hinges worn) Titlepage +vi +271pp +[22]pp place names & Index +[1]p books by T. Cox. The 27 folding maps are mostly numbered the others not, one map misplaced at p221. Name Edward Thorp and date 1753 on Endpaper, remnants of sealing wax on pastedown, inner hinge strengthened. Some small worm holes, mainly marginal to beginning and to gutter margin not affecting print, a small ink spot to fore-edge just visible to 1mm of margin on a few pages. A few maps repaired on the blank versos, three sl.tatty at margin where misfolded but actually a crisp neat copy and priced to reflect these minor faults and binding condition. *Quite scarce most libraries holding only the microfilms of the British Library copy.
