Two Volumes in One folio (333x221mm) in 4's tooled panelled 3-tone calf with corner florettes (covers lightly re-attached spine tight on 5 raised bands). Portrait +Titlepage +xlv prelims +324pp (recte 328)+ Titlepage to part II +300pp +[4]pp index +xvi contents of 2nd Part. Some corner damp marking & some foxing & browning but not affecting either legibility or paper strength. *First Part includes a Supplement of Horsemanship with its own Titlepage but continuous pagination. This is the preferred edition as corrected from the first - the next edition,which was in octavo, was issed without the 2 nicest plates of schooling the horses. All pages and plates nice and crisp, no tears, no writing and minimal signs of use.
