After a general survey of the religious benefits there is a discussion of some more contoversial aspects of Sunday schools, eg. should the Sabbath be kept entirely free of work and the problem of the contribution children make to family income of the poor, the increase of crime and the young, danger of false refinements & learning etc. The second part deals with running a Sunday school, eg. teachers, punishment, curriculum, how to fund them etc. Part 3 is a complete sample of what should be taught with Alphabets, reading and examples of 50+ stories, lectures, morals to be drawn etc. The appendix deals with the setting up of trustees, their duties etc.
