Octavo roan spined marbled boards with vellum tips black gilt spine label (edges rubbed/hinges cracked but covers still firmly attached). Engraved sepia titlepage with stipple engraved vignette +[8]pp prelims +152pp + 160pp Part II Concise History of the Arts of Design +26pp List of additonal plates. Slight edge browning to paper but neat clean and tight copy. *As explained by the author in his Preface this volume is a later addition and augmentation of his previous 4 volume work. Accompanied by a large number of stipple engraved plates in umber, sanguine or black of heads, attitudes, perspective, flowers etc.
