Lord Chancellor Eldon's copy, 12mo worn sprinkled tan roan on 5 rasied bands spine gilt in compartments (hinges cracked but held by cords/edges worn & patch of leather damage to covers) [8]p title + dedication + contents) +311pp. A few neat Latin notes but clean and tight. An Oxford text book that was in use for a long time. Bookplate of Lord Eldon the future Lord Chancellor of England and inscribed "J. Scott Univ. Coll. Oxon 1770" to the corner of the free endpaper. The future Earl was at University College, Oxford from 1766 to the early 1770's before going on to study law, eventually becoming Lord Chancellor of England and serving for almost 20 years.
