Description	Two Volumes in One, a vastly expanded edition, with nearly 700 pages of amusing items. Small octavo (150 x 97mm or 6" x 3.8") no longer bound into covers but book block completely tight and neat with original sewn-in headbands still present as well as 4 vellum strips to spine. Minor signs of use but all pages tight and clean and All edges marbled. Frontis + titlepage in red & black +[4]pp avertissement + 341pp +[11]pp index; Vol II Frontis + titlepage in red & black + 343pp + [11]pp thus lacking last leaf of index (supplied in manuscript). Name to blank recto of first frontispiece, otherwise a neat tight copy of these short humorous anecdotes. *Very popular when first published in 1699 and reprinted many times until the end of the 18th century.
